WebThere are 3 basic steps in the process of analyzing a handwriting sample. The questioned document and the standards (exemplars) are examined and detectable characteristics are recorded. A sample should be obtained without letting the person know what for if possible. Great exemplars would be letters, greeting cards, and notes. WebThere are several ways in which handwriting forgery can occur. One common method is called tracing, where the forger copies an authentic signature or handwriting sample onto a new document. This can be done by placing a transparent sheet over the original document and tracing it with a pen or pencil.
